DMV Spotlight shines a light on Alice’s Kids on 4/7/2019. Alice’s Kids Executive Director Ron Fitzsimmons explains when a child is raised in poverty there is suffering that is both public and private. Working with teachers in the DMV and now across the country, Alice’s Kids identifies children with a specific need and anonymously pays for the items. Fitzsimmons says Alice’s Kids believes a ” a little help can go a long way’. From paying for a cap and gown for a Fairfax County, VA high school senior to new soccer cleats for a child to try out for the soccer team to a set of books for a challenged young boy, Alice’s Kids wants kids to fit in with their peers and feel better about themselves. Alice’s Kids takes donations from the community on it’s website.
