DMV Spotlight on the Bay Barometer on 5.12.2019

DMV Spotlight shines a light on the health and restoration of the Chesapeake Bay, the largest estuary in the United States, considered a jewel of the Washington Metro area. Guests, Rachel Felver, Director of Communications for the Chesapeake Bay Program and the Allliance for the Chesapeake Bay, and Jen Dopkowski, Acting Coordinator for the Climate Resiliency Workgroup shared the findings of the recent Bay Barometer.  The annual report on the health of the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed found areas where the Bay is making strides with Oyster Restoration and the health of Bay grasses. The Bay Barometer also for the first time included the effects of a changing climate on the Bay. Felver and Dopkowski also shared what local residents can do to positively impact the health of the Chesapeake Bay.
