“Creating Camelot: The Kennedy Photography of Jacques Lowe,” offers an inside look at the personal side of the Kennedy family that’s never been seen before.

This impressive exhibit showcases more than 70 intimate photographs and iconic images of President John F. Kennedy, his wife, Jacqueline, and their children, Caroline and John Jr. — photos that helped create the legend of the Kennedy presidency known as “Camelot.”

More than 40,000 of Lowe’s negatives of the Kennedy family were lost in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks in New York.

To produce this exhibit, the Newseum digitally scanned and restored more than 70 of Lowe’s images to their original color, content and clarity using prints and contact sheets from Lowe’s estate.
